Went through a box and there were four dates that jumped out at me. 1940, 1941, 1954 and 1964. There seemed to be a strange amount of them as I searched (way more than normal) and the 1964 were absolutely new! As I put them aside I then counted how many of each I had. Wouldn't you know...there were exactly 40 of each date. Someone must have been putting back rolls of nickels by date (oonly the 1964s were new, the rest were well circulated) and then just cashed them in at face. Wish I had gotten the box with the 1942, 1943, 1944 and 1945! Still a neat find

Just for fun, one year when I was rolling up change in a cent wrapper, I grouped the cents by year and mint, so most of them would be all the same. I did the same thing with the Bicentennial quarters I had been holding on to forever, when I cashed them in. I put them all in the same wrapper so someone would get it in change and open it, then be like "Holy cow, what are the odds?" I definitely wouldn't do this with my old nickels, though. Good find, and good rescue!

Depending on mm, you have a mess of DDs & RPMs to search for, good luck.

What an awesome find! Ask the bank if the same person brought more coins, maybe the CC morgans and walking liberty halfs come to you!
