I am probably the only person here who was not aware of this coin. It is a 1976 LMC, counter stamped to celebrate the bicentennial. I found it while roll hunting. I did a little research and discovered that these coins were originally attached to cards with a drop of glue. The cards listed significant dates in the country's history over the last 200 years. The REV carries the stain from the drop of glue.

Nice find. They are pretty common with a lot of different varieties. Still an interesting find and a, "Look at This" coin. There could be a small mark up if you sell. The reverse stain is a bummer. I believe an acetone bath would not help this cent. The organic, "glue", looks like it is gone. The stain will remain. This would have been an interesting buy with the original card attached.IMHO

It's one of those coins that is more fun to find than to buy. Keeper.

I found one with a face counterstamp. Possibly JFK. Is this also a known item?
