I can forgive the clad dime, but it could have at least been a W instead of an S. I really like this set for the silver medal, which is unique to the it. Never thought I would get into medals, but I was really impressed with the medal in the Teddy set.

I'll be ordering this one soon. Agreed, jbuck. The medal in the TR set is pretty sweet.
With the announcement of the 4 C&C sets for 2015, I wonder if this means we'll get a C&C set for every remaining president on the Presidential $1 Coin series.

I got my set yesterday. I still think the overall presentation of the Teddy set is better, but this one is still very nice. I am very glad that I bought it. I was a little worried about this set using the same capsule holders from the silver Kennedy set. However, the capsules come out of this one with less effort than way too tight the ones in the Kennedy set. They either figured it out or got lucky. Both medals look great, as I had hoped. Of course, the dollar is a dollar and a dime is a dime. Still would have been nice if the dime were silver; nicer if it had a W instead of an S. The stamps are appreciated by this former stamp collector (who still has his Harris album). I do not think they are gratuitous, just a nice addition for the theme. My only real complaint is that the cardboard is not as solid as I had hoped. It does seem a bit cheap (comparing it to the Teddy specifically), but I think it will hold up okay. I do like the green.

Quote: I can certainly see the demand for a Reagan C&C (assuming the Reagan dollar is minted). It won't be unless Carter dies before Midnight tonight.

Quote: It won't be unless Carter dies before Midnight tonight. Why? The authorizing legislation specifies that the series begins with George Washington and continues until all deceased presidents are honored. The legislation does not require the series to stop upon encountering the first living president in the sequence. I think a Reagan coin will be part of the 2016 release.

I just ordered my FDR set tonight. Based on the rave reviews, I'm very much looking forward to adding it to the other Coin and Chronicles sets I have. ...including the Franklin C&C set off of ebay the other day for cheap.

After nearly two weeks I received my FDR set today... pretty darn good looking; happy to add it to my Coin & Chronicles sets. Since I don't see any photos in this thread, I figured I'd post some. The assembled set: All components of the set: The medals: If you would like to see more photos you can check them out in the OGP thread on page 6: https://goccf.com/t/198653&whichpage=6
