You should have paid about $100 to $150 for an ANACS F12 1909-S and if it was holdered as a 1909-S VDB you are probably $400 to $500 in the hole. I wouldn't send that coin back to any
TPG until I knew what their policy was and how it applies to this case. Then I would put them on notice and file a case under their guarantee provisions. Good luck with that! I ran into the same scenario with a PCGS Micro S slab and they said send it back and they would be happy to put the coin in the correct slab for free. They can't be responsible for what I paid for the coin or the circumstances upon how I acquired it. So much for their guarantees. Back when this coin was graded the submitter filled out the PCGS coin number on the submittal sheet. Obviously, he did it wrong prior to sending it to the "Professionals". The professionals that you paid to grade and authenticate the coin then encapsulated it with their opinion of grade and the wrong coin number that belongs to the micro S variety. They failed to notice the most important aspect of the job and certified the coin as being one type when it is not. Again, so much for their guarantees.
Your coin looks like it may upgrade to a VF coin but that is no compensation for the price differential between a 1909-S and a 1909-S VDB.
