Awhile ago I was pondering as to what my next project was going to be. Towards that end I purchased a couple of used Dansco albums for a modern and a classic series.

The modern series happens to be a coin that was started back in 2009 I believe - the Presidential dollar. This series I will be putting together in both the best pristine examples that can be found for a recent, and also one put together from existing circulating coins that I can find in CWR's.

The classic series is an album of silver dollars - both Morgan and Peace dollars. I've decided to put the series together of examples of VF or XF coins.

At first I was going to ignore variation such a 8 or 7 tail feathers, or the 1872 O/S overstrike. or even the 1887/6. But given some costs it appears that anything from Carson City is going to be commanding a premium among the Morgan dollars.

Since I have completed an album of the Peace dollars I do feel that there may a possibility of upgrading some coins in that album and putting them back into the new album.

The reason that I decided to go the VF or XF route for this album lies squarely in the price and over all coin appearance. I not sure if I will be comfortable with a mix of grades in the album, but since I'm just starting this album I'm not really married to particular grades. Once I get 10 or so coins in the grades mentioned then I feel that I will married to the grade.

LOL I know that's a typo, but if you come across any 1872-O Morgans, let me know I'm a buyer!
