Good Evening All, Can someone please tell me what years that Roosevelt dimes were made in silver? Even if it was only in the mint sets. Thanks John

1946 - 1964 for regular issues. In 1992 and forward there were 90% silver proof sets that contain a silver dime

A few '65, '66, and '67 dimes were coined on silver planchets - these rare beauties command a very handsome premium. (error coins)

if you want to get technical, I couldn't find the reference on here (it was posted previously) but if I remember correctly Denver was still minting 90% silver dimes up until 1966, though they were all dated 1964.

Conder - same here until I got a copy of Strike it Rich. I'm sure the numbers are small but apparently they are in circulation. I've never seen one posted before and may be as remote a sighting as other more commonly discussed anomalies (copper 1943 and steel 1944 cents). Given the prices noted these should be more common than those.

Actually the Mint never told people that all of them are Silver. They lied about some being Clad or Plated just to make sure people stop hoarding or melting them. The Mint has an abundance of Silver since the Lone Ranger no longer makes his bullets out of Silver. Oddly enough some bright individual is now making 99% pure silver Bullets and selling them at coin shows. At last weeks show they were selling for $26 for the 1 oz and $52 for the 2 oz. 1 Oz shaped like a .45 and the 2 Oz like a .308. The Mint started with the Roosevelt dime being a Clad coin in 1965.

Any dime 1964 and earlier. If in nice condition, frame in the mylar folder to preserve it.
