Pick this up off of ebay. It was sold as an off center and possible die trial strike. The edge doesn't look like it was spooned, because it's very unison and circular. What do you guys think?

I compared it with a normal large cent and they're about the same size with the original one slightly bigger. Same height was kinda hard for me to determine since they're so close to each other. I would have to say that the normal large cent was slightly shorter than the unknown one.

Be interesting to what the TPG would say about it as far as grade and content. The setup process is visible and doesn't look like the devices were ground down. Could be the only remaining like it?

Oh! I like what I'm hearing! So what do you guys think it is? I don't think it's a trial strike, because don't they usually have an image reversed? As far as the TPG goes, I think only ANACS would grade it, because it does have scratches on the back of it, unless it was made like that?

Looks to me like someone tried to protect the edges and went at it with a dremel tool with a semi-harsh buffing attachment. Maybe to try to get down below the scratches that were made by a utility knife?

Regardless, that's a pretty cool looking piece you got there. I am interested to see how things play out if you decide to submit it.
