Hello! These are a couple coins I have that appear to me to be some type of error (or maybe it is just post-mint damage). What are your opinions?

The cent looks like PMD to me. The outer devices look fully formed while the inner details look damaged. May have been heated and then scuffed. Our resident experts will be along to post their thoughts. The dime looks like an old, worn Rosie, but again, the center seems to have PMD. Looks like a possible counterstamp.

Well, the first photo is definitely post mint damage, and I'm not quite sure about the second one. Did you find these coins in circulation?

Yes, both were found in circulation. the mark on the dime is raised and with the way the lettering around the sides is weak I thought it might be a gouged die or something.

It could be a gouge but I'm thinking the dime was damaged from a pin being attached to it then removed. Nice to find silver on the wild though.

Cent is PMD and the dime looks like it was made into a piece of jewelry, maybe a tie tac or something like that.

Cent is post strike damage. Dime was soldered to something so it is also post strike damage. On the bright side the dime is silver.

You can see in the center the straight cut lines from a razor blade. It leaves straight striation lines.

I think you guys are right about the solder on the dime. I just weighed it, and it is .2 grams heavier than another silver dime.

BTW....This forum is awesome!
