New to collecting and found this in jar of wheat and memorial pennys.Is it a high or low 7 ?

Hi and peterp! Any way you can take a picture directly above the coin, so the front of the coin is shown better?

The one tell tale sign between the two that NEVER fails is a crease that runs horizontally across the top of the diagonal of the 7 on ALL large date cents. That crease is completely absent on ALL small date cents (this works for proofs too). Take a look at the photos below and see for yourself...and enjoy collecting!

Can't tell from your current pic. I look at the 9 to tell the difference.

Most of the time if you wonder, it is usually a large date. You are usually pretty sure when you really have one and don't question it.

Looks like a large date from what Ican see. The 9 loop appears to be pointing at the bottom of the 7. Hard to tell from the photo though.
