Hello everyone I recently received a silver dollar from a older woman that I take care of, I'm in need if a new car and the older woman told me this dollar is worth a good amount of money and should help me. I came here to ask you guys what's the value of this dollar? I just don't want a shop to rip me off once I go trying to sell it.
Thank you guys very much in advance

That looks to be a Series 1957B, yes? I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but those are common as silver certificates go, and are worth little over their face value. On ebay, at this very moment, there is one going for $1.79, and a lot of 17 currently bid at $10.50. Another one is currently bid at 99 cents. Worth little, but interesting to have since they are never encountered in circulation anymore. So hang onto it, put it away, and have something interesting to show your kids someday.

Unfortunately hcmusicguy is correct. 1957 Silver Certificates are very common and thus aren't worth a whole lot of money. Offers from coin shops won't be for much more than face value since they likely have many in their inventories that they can't sell.

It should have been redeemed years ago for a nice Morgan or Peace dollar. Too many folks figured they'd become incredibly valuable...same with Barr bills. Too many saved, but not enough in uncirculated condition.
