Here are some detail photos of a 1934-P LWC. I can tell for sure that there is a spread on the date when comparing it to another 1934-P. (I posted a photo of one in the first response in this thread.) I do not know how to tell whether the spread is doubling or wear. I have looked for markers for 1934-P-001 and what I have found is probably more my imagination than reality.
So how does one tell the difference between a doubling spread and wear?

Here is what I think of as a more "normal" date. The top of the 3 is thinner here and the diagonal on the four appears straight and not arched. The curve of the 9 appears thinner here, too.

The first one looks like contact marks on the tops of the date devices. Note how the fields are distorted from the contact that damaged these devices. Three things can make a device look wider.
1. Hub doubling
2. Struck through error with a small amount of grease in the die.
3. Contact that flattens or scrapes part of the metal from the device.
I believe your coin is suffering from #3.
