Outstanding find - that is a serious delamination error.
Thanks for sharing the photo

The fold over is after the strike. Note how the devices are weak from the lamination peeling. Unique find. It would have been better if it was found in BU, but it is what it is. It kind of looks like someone was helping it along from the mark through the center of the lamination.

That line between the "folds" is actually raised, not incuse. This is actually two separate peels with a ridge inbetween. Being that it is not BU, what should I catalog an estimated value at? (I like to catalog basic values for insurance purposes)

Looks like the center maybe incuse and the edges raised when the coin was worked over. A rim shot/close up might be more helpful.

You wanted a rim shot....bah dum dum...sorry could resist. See below. Does this help?

As I mentioned, it is most definitely raised as you can see the rim thickness. When looked on edge it is obvious that the smaller of the two peels actually extends all the way around the rim to roughly the 11 o'clock position, it just hasn't peeled back. A lot of lamination going on here!

Thanks, it does help. It does look raised in that area. Probably why it peeled off that way.

Sorry to ask again, but as some people said, this is a somewhat unique lamination error and my searches on ebay find nothing similar. Would anyone be willing to throw a rough estimate on value so I can log it into my collection ledger? I like to put estimated values in my list so that way if they should be stolen or if something should happen to me, it is a lot easier to make a claim/estate value.
