Just picked up this very cool error clad dime. I think it is 1979.

Appears to be broadstruck? It is certainly off center and clipped in a dramatic way. It has been "stretched" to the size of a Lincoln Cent.

No reeding visible on edge and you can see the copper clad showing through in spots.

How rare or desirable is this coin? Estimated value?

Depending on value, I am wondering if this would be worth slabbing (and I rarely get stuff slabbed).

It is not broadstruck. It is struck off center on a large straight clip planchet.

Very cool piece.

I'd say somewhere around $125. Personally I would not have it slabbed - slabbing just doesn't add enough value for errors like this.

Awesome! on a more unique error (less commonly found) like this one I believe having it in TPG slab might add noticeable premium over raw coin if in one of the two major branded holders only (PCGS,NGC)

That is very unique. I wouldn't get it slabbed, but that's just my opinion. Nice find!

The only time I would slab an error like that is if I thought it would grade MS67 or better.
