Hello all,
Just wanted to pick your brains and find out your suggestions to store larger bronze medals. I currently have my large medals in Ziploc bags and sealed in Ziploc containers. I noticed wizard coin offers some larger flips by Frame-A-Coin. Has anyone had experience with these flips? They are made of a soft vinyl. Some day I plan on investing in a coin/medal cabinet but until then I need some suggestions on the best way to store my pieces. Is there a binder & pages made specifically for larger medals? I would love to have an easier way to store and enjoy the pieces if I want to enjoy them. Any thoughts or suggestions would be much appreciated.

As you, I have quite a few medals, silver, copper and bronze. I have a few that are slabbed, and obviously this is a great way to store them, however more than likely you have some that are lose. I recently purchased a 1959 Hawaii Silver error produced from medallic Art Co., the seller had placed a soft cloth, cut into a circle on the obverse and reverse, then they vacuum sealed it in an archival plastic. I was pleasantly surprised to of received it this way and have left it until I get it slabbed. I'm sure you know to keep them in a cool, dry environment, and out of direct sunlight. I'm sure others will chime in, just thought I would share.

Air-tite does make large capsules. I was able to find one to fit a 5oz silver Mexican Libertad.

Thanks for sharing stevo. I am mainly interested in a better way to showcase my medals. I guess my best bet is to bite the bullet and buy a medal/coin cabinet. Welder, thanks for the info about the Airtites but the problem with them is not the diameter but the thickness...I have some pretty chunky medals.

You might consider one of these: http://www.lighthouse.us/epages/lig...oducts/MBXL6 for your larger medals (e.g., those > 2.5 inches in diameter).

They also make trays that will hold medals up to 2.5 inches in diameter. Check it out here: http://www.lighthouse.us/epages/lig...roducts/MB12

When I use them, I place a piece of soft cotton in the bottom of each compartment before I put in the medal.
