In August 2013 I ordered and paid in full for this material from the error man. I received a letter Sept. 11/2013 saying that the material I received was not complete and I would receive the balance by yearend. As of today Nov.24/14 I have not received the balance of the material or replys to my 2 emails. Just wondering if anyone else ordered this kit.

John the error man writes the column in Canadian Coin News on errors in most issues. He gives seminars on varieties and errors and offered the manual and other error items for sale. I believe SSP knows this man and maybe could shed some light on this.

In my previous email I meant to say SPP-Ottawa not SSP.

I have heard the error man is slowing down in the numismatic world ,he has alot on his plate and has his hand in in lots of places. Remember he is retired and maybe on a holiday.

He writes for the Canadian Coin & News every month sometimes he is spot on and other times I question what he saying. Keep e-mailing him with your problem I'm still waiting to hear back from him on an e-mail and it's been a week. Then again the e-mail before that was 8 months ago and still waiting. Wonder if he is he trying to tell me something?

Quote: I believe (SPP-Ottawa) knows this man and maybe could shed some light on this. You have no idea how many of my close friends, and myself, are chuckling at this statement you made. There most definitely is no connection between myself and the self-proclaimed "error-man"... I have only met him once, and was annoyed as his blatant mis-use of error nomenclature and how he treated some collectors (e.g. holding on to coins that were sent to him for an interpretation, for more than a year, or even losing coins). The one time I called him out on it, here of all places - he dragged my online persona through the mud in his CCN column (without even knowing who I am)... It goes so much deeper than this, among the dealers and auction houses in Canada, which I will refrain from commenting on. Leave me completely out of this one... enjoy the error kit - I have not examined it, nor do I ever intend to. In my opinion, you have best resources by subscribing to Coin World (Mike Diamond writes their error column), CN Journal error column (Henry Nienhuis) and by being a member of CONECA, and receiving their journal, Errorscope.

As a newbie to this site I have really enjoyed and learned a lot about coins. Thank you for your reply and it lets me see that I should forget this matter and enjoy the information I am getting from this forum.I am sorry if I offended you in my email. I also would like to congratulate you on your new position.

The last time I was in Canada was June 2013 and I picked up a copy of the Canadian Coin News while I was there, it just happened to be that issue where the "error man" ranted about SPP-Ottawa the whole time! Congrats on becoming a moderator SPP and thanks for all the knowledge you contribute to this forum.

The error man replied to someone's email once? Now THAT's a rarity!

At the ending of his last article he mentioned in he is going to look into and talk about E-Bay Gobal Shipping rates and custom charges that appear on some listing. I have ordered my extar high rubber boots just for his next article it should be a good one.
