If the us mint offer rolled sets of silver quarters would you buy them? What price would you pay per roll?

They offer 5 proofs for $32 or 6.40 each now,so times 40=$256. Fresh collector unc coins could go for $5 so $200. I'd more than likely take a generic collector puck over a generic silver unc roll if offered, so I would pass.

If they have the same design, wouldn't it be likely for a few to escape into circulation?

Interesting idea and I agree with Foxwoods Man. I doubt this pricing would be the case so, in the end, I would not buy as I am sure the price would be too high.
SlurExe97: It is a certainty that some would escape and some probably are escaping now. Collectors die, people steal, and those that end up with the silver coins may not be educated enough to know they are silver and will spend them.

With the current price of silver down coupled with the economic uncertainty that lies ahead, it would make sense to invest some dollars in proof silver coins, if they can be bought at a low premium above spot.

Grey sheet for some Silver Quarter Proof Sets (5 coins) are as low as $16.50. That's a small premium over spot.

Over the years, I have bought many modern Silver Proof coins close to/at spot, and even below on a few lucky occasions. At one coin show, I bought several loose Silver Proof Quarters lenses at spot, and all the junk silver buyers walked right past that table... ;-)

I do wish the circulation-finish "S" ATB Quarters were made in 90% silver, but if that was the case it would make more sense to sell them as an annual five-coin Set in a lens, rather than rolls.

I wouldn't buy them. I prefer to purchase Pre-1964 as they will always have a premium over spot
