I found one 2009 proof set for $18 and two 2010 proof sets for $15. They are undamaged and contain their box and COA. How good of a deal is this? I'm going to atleast get one of each set since I like the coins.

Would it be possible to flip the second 2010 set for a profit with a dealer? Or are they usually not interested in any modern proof sets anymore? I know generally a 2010 proof set goes for a lot more retail. I know the guy doesn't know coins that much since I bought 5 silver War Nickels for a $1 today.

Are these silver proof sets or clad proof? Is it a partial set or the 14 piece set? All depends on which proof sef you got as to bow good the deal isl. If silver sets you got a great deal. If it is the 14 piece clad set you got a good deal, if it is a partial set you paid about right.

It's full sets 2009 has four slabs, 2010 has three slabs. It's a clad set not silver.

I love 2009 because it has the Presidential dollars, cents, and territory quarters extra slabs. 2010 has the extra slabs for Presidential dollars and first issues for the park quarters.

Not a bad deal. They go for around $18-25 although I did see a sale of 2010, 2011 and 2012 sell for $30 for all 3

So do you think I could turn a profit with the second 2010 proof set quickly?

Most proof sets are bought to add to collections. They are not big (if any) profit items.

You might be able to make a few bucks for your effort depending on where you sold it.

Yeah just determining wheter I should give it to my friend as a Christmas present or sell it and get something more in line with his current collections. He's a new collector but seems to like atleast some proofs.

He bought himself a proof set for his birth year the other day but he's he's mostly into Indian cents, Liberty nickels, and Franklin halves. Mostly because I'm interested in wheat pennies, Mercury dimes, and Buffalo nickels and he wanted something similar but not the same.

We settled on franklins being his silver coin since it's easy to get a complete collection, which had started bothering him about his first two collections. It was the only cheap silver coin that I could think of he could get a full collection near junk and not be a current design.

Give your friend the extra set. As I'm sure you are well aware, hobby comrades are a collector's most valuable find.

Yeah he found a bunch of Mercury dimes, silver Rosie's, and War Nickels for me that I needed for my sets super cheap but told me they were for Christmas so I've been looking for a suitable gift :). I might need to get him something else too though to add on to it.

We go to like three different coin shops a week together for fun. I kinda wonder what dealers think of us haha.
