Susan had said many of you had participated in this fun program before, and if interested I do have one of the George Washington dollars that is in the program, and would like to share it with our members. However, eventually I would like to end up with the dollar again when members loose interest. For those of you not familiar with the program, here is the link to it: https://www.wheresgeorge.comI am not sure of the exact rules for me to send it to someone, but would venture a guess that you would post here that you want to participate, and send an address to my email, or ? after you post here, maybe Susan can tell me the address. I am a newbie so guide me on this adventure :) bbrown913

Just for clarification..
You want to have a wheresgeorge bill passed around the membership of the forum in order to travel across the country for us to post it on the wheresgeorge.com website?
Sounds kinda intriguing. I would count it under the same thing as a buy/sale/trade so I'd stick around the forum for a bit and get 50 quality posts before you can "trade" with others and post links and stuff
Welcome to the Forum!

Don't they 'charge' you to find out where the bill has gone? I always thought that made it a sham.

I had some bills on the site a few years back and they didn't charge a fee back then.

To clarify from the site: [If the dollar bill you enter has been entered here before, you will get back a list of all the cities/states where that bill has been, as well as travel time, distance and speed of each hop! ]
When I checked with Susanlynn9 about posting the topic and about the program, she gave permission. I don't think it actually counts as a trade since I am not trading "for" or getting something in return. (?) "Please feel free to post about it in the Main Forum. I think this is a fun activity and I know many of our members agree. Susan"
When I entered the bill on the Wheres George, I did not pay a fee. They also have Canadian currency they track. bbrown913

This is all smoke and mirrors. You want to mail around a dollar from one member to the next so that they can enter the info in WheresGeorge and track it's movement until it finally ends up back in your hands.
You really can't see the forest from the trees. You can save postage and time if you just post the serial number for the bill in question along with the series. This way you get the same result. Each member could take a turn posting and the bill would never have to leave your side.
It would be a complete farce but the result would be the same without taking up the time of the good people, and not so good people, that post here on this forum.

Might be kinda cool if you put it out into circulation then if one of us ended up with it and sent it back to you...but just to mail it...

Sorry, just trying to contribute to those whom might have been interested. Yes, the easy way would have been to just enter zip codes, however some may have never seen the red markings on a project bill, or were not aware of the project, and might have found it interesting, or educational, which of course is usually welcomed and not a waste of time, wether it be for good or not so good people. (so far everyone that has sent me emails or welcomed me and others has been nice, so I am not sure who the not so good people would be) Not everyone likes this type of activity or item, and that's ok. Putting it back into regular circulation is a good idea. Thanks. bbrown913

What is a project bill? This is the first time that has been mentioned. That's a different story. I was under the impression that you were mailing around a dollar bill just to do it. If there is something different about the bill then I agree with you that it would be neat and educational to do this.

No, there is no charge for this. Its a free game. Its designed to track the natural flow of dollars. You're supposed to get a bill, write on it, enter it into the website, then spend it. If anyone else finds it and enters it, you can see where it went. Mailing it to other people kind of defeats the purpose of seeing where its gone through normal transacations.
Its a fun game.

Scanning the bill before you set it free would answer the question of what it looks like.
