It is a Mexican (second republic decimal issue) 50 centavos or one half peso. It was made at the Durango Mint in 1887 the last year of issue and the assayer initial is C. There are two varieties with a total reported mintage of 28,000 coins. The first type has an over punched mint mark with the Do over Mo. I see no trace of that but the pictures are small.
The coin specifications are silver 902.7 fine. The coins weigh 13.536 grams new and contain 0.39 ounces of pure silver.
The coin grades Fine in my opinion and it is not overly popular as a collector coin. Most collectors who are doing the minors usually want higher grade examples. I would estimate the value at about $20-25.
The O that looks like a C should be closely examined for post strike damage. Such an error is not reported as far as I know.
