scotk..... see the darker color around the devices? That is gunk they could not remove without destroying detail. The color just looks unnatural....lighter in the fields etc....looking at tens of thousands of old coppers kinda helps one learn to see these things....

I think it's lacquered, not cleaned and recolored. Too much reflectivity on a very dark coin - that's a hallmark of a bright clearcoat.

with everyone above, details EF possibly lacquered, recolored and most likely cleaned, still not a bad coin for the right price, like under $12.00.
