I'll start by saying that I'm not a coin collector, but
inherited jars full of 1940 - 1964 quarters, 1940's half dollars, 1960's half dollars, and 1950's half dollars.
I came across this 1954
Franklin half dollar specimen with a "2" stamped into it to the left of the face.
First, I'm wondering if this is a genuine "error coin". And second, if it is, what value would it have?
Thanks in advance!
ps. sorry for the slightly out of focus picture. I do mostly portrait photography and don't have a macro lens.
