How interesting...I was just going to post about this same auction by this grey-market reseller.
So they're selling the D810 for ~$1K off, but check out their 1.83/10 score on Reseller Ratings! Buyer beware!
If you want to save some on a D810, a less risky option is buying a factory refurb. Nikon sells them for $400 off, which includes a US warranty.
Now and then, Nikon has taken off another 10%--or $2610--wait a little and you'll get a deal.

The D810 is the most I've paid for any camera. Fortunately, I had a windfall to get the D810's resolution, ISO 64, DR and EFCS. The images are useful even at 100% crop; I sure can't complain.

It's the 100% crop clarity that attracts me most. I never really saw that clarity from pics I've seen taken with a D800E so I assume completely getting rid of the AA filter and then optimizing the demosaicing really makes the difference. I am still waiting though til DVC confirms there is tethering software that can work with it. I think I'll ping the Helicon folks to see if they have written anything...Ray

Yeah...me too. The D810 SDK has been available for some time--I've been told version 5.1 will include the D810. However, they may be waiting for the D750 SDK to include that in the next version.

I have a question in for HeliconSoft to see what level of support they offer. They say that the D810 is supported but with a new platform that can mean anything.

This comment is scary:

"Note About Packaging: Camera comes in a retail kit box, Lens was removed"

Does that mean no lens?

Yeah, body only, no lens.

This seller, 6th Avenue Electronics, is one of those high pressure sales houses which will call you to upsell expensive accessories before they'll sell you the camera. If you don't buy, they may be "out of stock" on the camera.

You want one? $2800 at Ritz Camera.

Unfortunately, there are dangerous waters to cross when anyone decides to buy a camera, particularly Gray Market (or GM below).
You see a great deal and assume the seller will be upfront and helpful. But for the same price, widely varying levels of service exist.

Some things I can recommend. If you're looking for new or factory refurb Nikon bodies/lenses w/ USA warranties, make sure they're on the Nikon USA authorized dealer list (pdf). Nobody else can sell them.

Before buying GM, there are a few things to know from Nikon USA, such as "Nikon Inc. USA cannot perform any warranty or fee-based repair work on GM items. Please do not contact Nikon Inc. USA for help with any GM products." Sometimes the savings on GM isn't worth it long-term--unless the dealer provides their own warranty and has a good track record on service.

For the reasons given above, I have never felt comfortable buying GM. I would rather buy a used camera body or lens that was made for the USA market. For that, I have been very happy buying from KEH.

As for big-box, authorized retailers, I've had very good experiences with B&H, Adorama, as well as Amazon. Others would add Roberts camera, Samy's and Cameta Camera to that list--and no doubt many others I haven't mentioned.

One more thing I'll add about my experience with the D810.
I'm not terribly thrilled how the camera implements "Live View"--at least working from the 3.2" monitor. In particular, the LV AF is rather slow compared to standard AF. That said, the tethering software seems to improve LV functionality--not just the AF, but the ability to trigger a shutter based on motion, regular focus increments for stacking, and other workflows. If you have a D800/D800E/D810--you might enjoy seeing what you can do with Live View tethered to software--this demo uses the D800.
