I'm so glad I didn't purchase this coin. Apparently the mint changed the colour of the coin, from very beautiful to vulgar. Did anyone get this coin yet? I wanna know what the colour is really like.

In 2013 - 2014 have been minted 4-5 beaver coins (without this one):
1oz silver Standalone edition 5oz 1oz O' Canada 1/2oz O' Canada
+1 gold coin with the 5c design (too bad too small, but affordable).
and if I remember correctly, was the "Baby Beaver" coin?
So really doubt, that after this "Beaver's intervention", people will want another one....except the 5oz Silver "Nickel" that projected in the March 2015.

Jackalope, that's the one I'm talking about. The pictur e on the mint website had its colours change from light blue and light brown to dark blue and dark brown.

The in hand photo looks impressive. I'm not really seeing a difference of course I'm using my ph. I do like the combination of color and silver. I like it when a coin has only some color, it's like it enhances the coin's presentation. Some color coins are over done. I prefer this one of all the beaver coins. The next beaver coin I like is the baby beaver.

Interesting observation, Petersun Well...it personal view and preference, but on the rendered coin I see the "live" fur of animal, while on real coin it looks like the fur just "flatly stamped" on top of the surface. Quote: I like it when a coin has only some color, it's like it enhances the coin's presentation. Do you remember that Australian series, Pocket_Change? So in my opinion, here the same, could better if just water and ground will be colourized, leaving the silver reflection to play on the Beaver, makes him really 3-D.

Which series are you referring to Silveroid? There's so many coins from so many mints, I'm amazed I remember any details of the coins. I'd like to see the coins your talking about. Can you post some information please?

https://goccf.com/t/169624&whichpage=4This is the Australian NCLT forum, I posted my compilation of the Discover Australia - "Dreaming Series" 2008-2011. Where the coins are silver proof and only part of the background colorized (ground, water, sky ....)

@ Silveroid that is a beautiful set and the display box really sets it off nicely. This what I mean by having a quality case to display coins in. It does enhance the overall experience and appearance of the coins.
I'm saying this as some people argue: is one collecting coins or cases. For me I what a quality wood case to display my expensive coins in. It's not like a collection of quarters pulled from circulation. The way coins are presented really enhances the enjoyment and presentation. There's a different look to a coin in a cardboard flip or capsule vs a nice wooden display case. To me there is at least. Silveriod your collection certainly pops and I like the way the color isn't overdone on the coins.

Thanks a lot, Pocket_Change
And I agree with you about the storage / display. Yes, we do collect coins and not the cases, but these coins will have more visual appeal in the proper packaging.
Personally I prefer 10 bulky wooden cases, where the coins organized by themes/subsets, rather than 50 individual clam-shell cases.
