Strach-Man Valued Member Canada 491 Posts	Posted 12/02/2014 8:18 pm I'm thinking of buying the LCD MacroCam 7x108x magnification device and wondering if anyone has had a chance to use this. On paper it sounds good, but even a good ad on a pinto can make that car seem like a dream. I looking for something that I can take good close picture with so I can share my coins looking for pros and cons about this device it sells for 399.00 + Taxes Report this Post to the Staff

It is great for closeup images but it is not good for full coin shots. You want to get something with 3x magnification for that. I would also think being handheld would present a problem. BStrauss3 Pillar of the Community United States 4592 Posts	Posted 12/03/2014 01:05 am If you have USB 3 ports, take a look at the DANE ELECTRONICS GS-M8M-B USB 3.0 high Resolution Digital Microscope - it is on sale @ Amazon for 135. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00IJGES96/ I have just started playing with mine, but it seems to do infinity focusing - and it has an 8MP image. Strach-Man Valued Member Canada 491 Posts	Posted 12/03/2014 11:58 am I have a digital scope and looking for something to take good close ups on a coins, but also can take shots of whole coin. I don't want to have spend 2000 on a camera just to takes pictures of my coins. I was thinking I could build some kind of platform to rest it on to take pictures. Last year I build a 3 inch by 4 inch 2 inch in height a slab out of oak, drilled a hole the size of a Lrg Cent and depth enough. To hold the Lrg Cent in place so it does not move when I clean the coin. I glued a garden hose O ring in the bottom of my drilled hole so I don't mark up the coin works great Report this Post to the Staff
