Ok so If the Mint is listening , here is what I would like the next XforX coin to be like:
$75 for $75 "proof" silver .999 3/4 or 1 oz preferably,a low mintage of no more then 5000 but knowing the Mint they seem to like that 7500 figure, a normal maroon clam shell and not that cardboard box thanks , save them for the 100k plus mintage coins, a well done animal in motion theme such as the beaver coin, I actually really like the beaver coin by the way.
Is that asking too much?

@Norterncoins: The RCM almost did it: The Bison in Motion was "mate proof" 100for100 1oz coin, but the mintage was high, and the packaging - standard maroon case. Unfortunatelly, for 100for100 and 50for50 coins, even I did like some - I sold them, cause just didn't find right place for them in the collection, and didn't want to be overloaded with "animals coins", spcialy if I have the same animal in "proof" with lower mintage. |

We used to have a RCM rep on CCF but have not seen them post in a long time now. |

I am also not a fan of it (matte proof).
Cause the in this case there is no "frost" and "mirror", but everything "soft frost".
Need to say, that "O Canada" coins, that were introduced as "Matte Proof", were more close to traditional proof.
In bottom line, the best of all proofs is "Multi layered proof" or Ultra-HR Proof - both of them highlight different elements of the design.

@Northerncoins, yes, that's all true, but... What would be the RCM's gain? Attention to other coins from $4$? They sell them anyways! They made this $25 colourized flag coin. That definitely brought the attention, yet the high mintage gives them huge cash flow. What you are offering is the attention with below average return. $75 for full ounce of proof coin? Why would they want this? |

Well I want it and those like me want it lol, why not make this and appease these type of collectors, they have made how many hundreds of thousands of XforX coins now to make those type of collectors that dont care about mintages happy...I say its our turn now....  well if the Mint would only cooperate that is . |

I don't think the price $75 a coin would hurt them, there profit margin might be a bit lower but I think they would sell out all 5k quite easily. Cost of silver at $16 oz x 5000= $80k 5000 x $59 = 295k profit minus operation cost , How long does it take to make 5k coins anyways? Ya first they need to design and make the die , not sure how long that takes but I assume only one guy does it so maybe a few days,but after that its just a matter of pumping out 5 k coins,packaging and shipping etc, that cant take alot of time? A few days to a week maybe ,If they cant make money from $295k making 5k coins then they need me up the running things for them... |

The "Bullion Replica / Premium version of SML" $5 Reverse Proof (very beautiful coin) 1oz .9999 Siver has been issued for CAD 79. Mintage 20.000 . Maroon box, individually numbered COA. Where are the buyers? What now not good for the collectors? And why I selling mine for bullion up to $10 below the issue? Over saturation. This coin, the WMF, the ANA ... yeah they all different, but I do not have budget for this variety. Edited by Silveroid

What is a pickled die? I thought pickling was a food process? I can't image it applied to metal. Why would you pickle a die anyway? I wonder how many coins a numis die produces, before retiring and what happens to them? So many questions and so little answers. It's really too bad we don't have a RCM rep on the forum!! However, I can understand why no takers. |

I like the coin and have met the designer personally. She also designed the 5oz swimming beaver and numerous other wildlife coins.
Looking forward to ordering at least one of these!
