According to The Royal Mint website, the 2013 2p has a mintage of 40,600,000. So far I've only ever had one in change. I've had lots of 2012s and 2014s. Has anyone else found the 2013 2p elusive? The other day I was in Margate and went into several amusement arcades where they have the 'double falls' gambling machines that use 2p coins. I looked for ages and only spotted one 2013 - and it wasn't in a playable position!

I am aiming to have a complete collection of all UK coins since decimalisation, including a BU and circulated coin for every year. The 2013 2p is missing from my circulation coins at the moment. I check every coin that goes through my hands. I also check the coins of family and friends when I can, which is a source of humour.

I am also missing about half a dozen of the bronze 1p coins and a circulation 2013 Edinburgh £1. I suppose I could buy them from ebay, but I enjoy the thrill of the hunt.

yup - 2013 never was common - not quite as bad as the early 2008 ones though...!
