I guess he could narrow the date down to 1937 to 47.

Huh?. I think ground off some how. There would still be a rim, it was obviously struck in collar, if it were struck through a capped die......right?

I passed on it too when I saw it listed.

I'm waiting for someone to list a 1-cent brokerage. There are tons of US ones but apparently very few Canadian ones...?

I will ask the seller if he can provide a weight for the coin and that should answer most questions.

Aswag there is usually a real one on ebay every month or two. The auctions have them with some regularity also. It seems that most are the 65 to 81 Elizabeth head followed by the 53 to 64 Elizabeth head. 1979 and 1980 have way more than their fair share of clips and off centres and I suspect that many of the 1965 to 1981 brockages are from 1979-1980. I have only seen a small number of George VI brockages. I haven't seen a George V small cent brockage.

darryldarryl - I would love to see any 1 cent (full mirror) brockage coins you're willing to share. Perhaps you could start a new post since I'm sort of pulling this one off topic

I looked at recent ebay auctions and saw a great 1979 25c brockage (plus it's on a wrong planchet -- a little help at the mint I'd guess) ...

Sold for $655 USD and the winner was willing to go higher. Too deep of pockets for me, but nice to look at!
