houston_guy462004 Valued Member United States 235 Posts	Posted 09/10/2007 2:06 pm After a two-montg break, I recently acquired some coins on ebay from being the high bidder. I see that the new notification reads "You did it! It's all yours!" --- as if I had acomplished some epic tour de force to win a prize, when in fact I probably overpaid for the item. Does anyone agree with me that a more dignified and business-like "You bought the item as the highest bidder" would be more appropriate? We are buying coins with money, not "winning" them as a prize. The only circumstance where this would be appropriate is if I made a killing on the coin. I really doubt they would respond this way if I got a $500 coin for $10 (Unless it was Bobby and Susanlynn ... oops, now I'm pandering). I did get a congratulations from a seller once when I got a 1973-S Kennedy in PCGS PF69-DCAM for just over $10 (including shipping). The seller congratulated me and told me I got the coin for way under his cost. I didn't feel insulted. Report this Post to the Staff

And in turn people will sell more. I do agree that a more professional and dignified auto-response is warranted. Obviously ebay deals in countless types of product categories. They seem to have a cookie cutter system for everything. I hate to sound snobby but I would bet typical coin dealers/collectors are a bit more sophisticated than your average Ebayer.
