If you're OK with that sort of odd pattern of wear on the shield - not unknown but a little heavy on this one - I'm at about F15 and original surfaces. Reverse is probably 5 points better so if the consensus is VF20 I wouldn't be amazed.

Is that graffiti on the obverse in the right field? Shouldn't that preclude a problem free grade. Otherwise I think it is in the VF-20 range.

Good question Joe. It does not appear to be graffiti on the obverse field, but a series of light hits. But one could convince oneself of anything.

Sure look like letters scratched in. I doubt it would grade problem free.

You know, I didn't think so at first but those marks sure are starting to look deliberate.

My first though was graffiti as well. Almost looks like it spells 'EMA', but I could be convinced otherwise!

Maybe we can get a better photo just of that field area in question?
My first impression was VF20 but I think the wear to Liberty's shield pushes it back to F15.

With my equipment, this is the best I can do. It is not readily apparent to the naked eye.

jimbucks -
Once the image is in your computer or other device, you should be able to use digital flash and then punch up the contrast to get something that's more useful.

I'd go VF25 if she grades problem-free. Seated dollars seem to grade differently (higher) than other Seated series'. I've seen similar pieces in VF30 holders.

I'll be the oddball and say
Obverse: F15/VF20 Reverse: VF20/25
Overall grade, I'd say VF-details for the graffiti in the obverse field.

F-15 Details. That definitely looks like deliberate grafitti in the field. Looks like "EWA"
