I was wondering if someone can help me understand the meaning of the abbreviations or letters (short for?).

Such as: DD, DDO, VDF ect...
Rest in Peace

As you can see, some terms are automagically liked to a Glossary definition or help page on the subject whenever you type them on the forum. Other acronyms and abbreviations are not, either because no-one's ever asked for it or because their meaning changes with the context. " DDR", for example, means "Doubled die reverse" in the US Errors section, but is more likely to mean "East Germany" (Deutsche Demokratische Republik) if you're talking about German coins.

This hasn't stopped them from adding " DDR" to the automagic list, however.
Don't say "infinitely" when you mean "very"; otherwise, you'll have no word left when you want to talk about something really infinite. - C. S. Lewis
