I was digging through my grandfathers paper money collection and came across this note. Only printed on one side, a major error note?

It seems unlikely that such an error note would get so much wear. I expect that your grandfather kept it as a curiousity.

Hang on for more opinions.

The1Sun, to CCF.
This an interesting note. Not sure how this came about but CCF members will chime in.

I could see this getting a lot of wear if it were on the reverse...most people pay for things face up. Plus, I'm fairly certain I can see green on the note. I'm also seeing what looks like George's super-faded oval in the center. My opinion: bleached note. Not an error, post-BEP.

Looks similar to one that just sold on ebay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/US-1-Ink-Er...231411653625

Since there's no "In God We Trust" it's an early 1935 silver certificate. I suspect it has been bleached at one point.

How would I find out if its a true error or if its just been bleached? The value on a true error would be a considerable difference I would think? Worth looking into?

Thanks!

Close-up pictures of the front like the one you posted of the back would help!
