For what it's worth, I think these are among the ugliest coins the U.S. has ever produced. Thomas Jefferson is the worst so far; he looks like a character from Saturday morning cartoons. And Madison looks like Dracula on his. Anyway, I remember spending the first day on the Internet and phone both, just trying to get through to purchase a $25 roll that (in retrospect) might in ten years be worth as much as, well, $25. In retrospect, I was optimistic. But since the very same day, they announced pre-orders on the proof sets, I thought I'd just pre-order a proof set or two, just in case. Well, that was a bust. You can't go out of the house without tripping over these proof sets. But, hey, if you like the coins, it's only $14.95. As an investment, though, I think not. But, here's a guy who disagrees : http://cgi.ebay.com/2007-PRESIDENTI...KE_W0QQitemZ250162162490QQihZ015QQcategoryZ149688QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem Maybe I should buy a few more?

I personally like the idea of the Presidential dollars and the first lady pieces. There nice to have but like everyone has told me not a great investment.

The guy in the link you posted is selling the grades not the coins, if it were NGC or ICG the 70 grade may not matter all that much but PCGS don't like giving out very many 70 grades, in my opinion just to keep the population reports down quote: I personally like the idea of the Presidential dollars and the first lady pieces. I think the First lady coins will do better as an investment because atleast they are made of gold

Actually, it is very rare for PCGS to grade the Pres Dollars in PR70, as Bryan mentioned, they are being EXTRA stingy in their grading. Now worth US$2,800 dollars? No way in hell, maybe $800 for those crazies that must have PR70 coins...

The reason the seller has to ask for $2800 is to pay for all the presidental dollars grading fees from all the other that they sent in and came back as PR69's
What a waste of money!!

The saddest part is that some registry guy will probably pony up that kind of money for those coins. Personally, I really hate the designs.

I cannot believe the seller is asking that much for the set, even though they are graded PCGS.

I agree. They are made of gold, have a very limited mintage, and sell out within a couple hours of going on sale.
