Personally, I don't see the value increasing on these. If there is no demand, the prices will remain stable or even drop. Example is the one listed. It has been on ebay over a week with no takers and as Roger stated about the coin dealer who has had one for over 3 years without selling it. I think this could be a case of "more coins than collectors".

Quote: I think any serious coin collector with money to spare would buy one or have bought one already at the very least for the bragging rights, not saying we on here are not serious lol, but most of us look at getting value for our money such as buying silver/gold bullion etc.
I would disagree with " any" Is "collectioning" means bring home and own everything old / rare, that was minted? There is also personal choice. Coin stuck to the watch, even not separatable...I will agree to disassemble it from the watch, in order to have the coin only, but not like item from pawn shop. Do not get me wrong, I take out from change every "Nickel" (5c) to have all years of them. But to think, that the collector have to own everything, that allows budget - imo is questionable.

Willing to spend their money on the "Rare" items , but like I said most are not like that , most are like you and I , just collecting for the fun but in hopes some of the stuff we collect will actully be worth something someday or not , maybe thats part of the fun for some collectors. Everyone has their own reasons.

@ DD 2006 Long Beach Dominion Sale Long Beach Coin Expo Lot#50565 sold for $4312.50 USD. Would agree with others , even though scarce a very , very tough coin to resell!

I have to agree. Tough item to sell. Correlating mintage numbers to values is not a consistent formula. Just because there is 10 of something in the world is irrelevant if it only appeals to 3 people. Now in a 100 years and 15 minutes from now (when coin clocks are trendy) who knows...

Most welcome DD!. For anyone wanting to do some research on past auction results............there are two great sights HA.com sign up for a free account and you can research past auction results for just about any collectible. Second is a British Site "London Coins " for British and related results in Pound sterling.

There is also the NCLT << business strike reality.
There are many NCLT with mintages under 5000. What would a hypothetical 2014 business strike 25c with a mintage of ~5000 be worth?

Depends on >5000 collectors or <5000 collectors. If there is 1 more coin then there is demand .......................ouch!!

Quote: There is also the NCLT << business strike reality That's how I look at it too. It is a "business strike" finish I believe, but realistically they never were meant to circulate and as such are just low mintage NCLT coins.

Notice now instead of a $5,000 asking price, he says "Please Contact". Guess he didn't have many offers.
