So I'm stationed overseas so my access to coins is very limited. A year and a half ago I helped set up a snack fund at work and have been eyeing all of the change every since. I've found every nickel for my collection from 53 to date out of there and wheats going back to 1919. Well today I found my first silver. A poor worn down 1961 d Roosevelt. Almost two years of looking I had almost given up, but today there it finally was. I was so excited.

RES, good for you. I would tend to believe finding older coins as wheats and nickels on a overseas military base common. Nice silver find.

I have always wondered about you guys down in the USA, and if you ever find Canadian Silver. I have found 4 silver usa dimes, but never a quarter (its on my bucket list). Because finding Silver Canadian quarters is even hard up here, I would be amazed if people down there were finding them.

Congrats RES!
Ace, I've found a few silver Canadian quarters in rolls and change here. I've found HUNDREDS of Canadian silver dimes, including a 1900 Victoria, in rolls. I put in very little effort this year and have found 50+ silvers.

fistfulladirt, are you actively roll hunting to find that many silvers, or just checking pocket change?

Thank you all for the congrats.
I can't wait to get back to the states next year. I'm already looking at one of the coin sorters that will allow for easy sorting of silver and clad. I also love copper, so I am looking forward to using the same machine to help that and save my eyes. Has anyone used one of the coin sorters?

I have a small stack of Canadian silver, including some dimes from the '40s, and quarters from the 50s and 60s, that I found years ago (early '80s?). That was when I lived in Bay City, MI. I think they were coming across from Port Huron into circulation in Michigan. I now live on the west side of Michigan and rarely find anything Canadian.

RES, I was actively roll hunting for half-doz years but quit this spring. Oops, forgot I just bought 1K in halves and scored 10. Ok, I'm done.
