Filed away or made mental note of SAP's point concerning clips that occur prior to plating process on
LMC's from 82 to present. Another good clue to watch for.
Slamnbass, your question up top had me (a rookie) refreshing my thoughts concerning true clips.
Basic (pre-strike) clips I've seen referenced in concerns to circular coinage are listed as follows,
Curved clips
Straight edge clips
Ragged edge clips
Corner clips
Incomplete clips
Elliptical clips
Crescent clips
The list could include double clips, triple clips and on and on, but unless I missed any, the basic clip anomaly and or combination of would stem from the ones mentioned above.
