Yeah--that's a nice, problem-free honest VF! Hope I can find one like that...

This is a beautiful coin...I love Indian Heads...found a 1902 when I did a 500 Wheat Run ! Whether this coin has been cleaned or not, I dont care as I would never part with it, so doesn't matter, as long as its PRETTY !

Quote: Whether this coin has been cleaned or not... To a degree, this is still a collectable coin--although the value has been significantly reduced due to the harsh cleaning. As we discuss often on the forums, a coin's value is tied to the original, struck surfaces. To the degree that's compromised by wear/damage/cleaning...it affects the value.

Bought my 1902 S4 from this same seller. He's the one I asked a couple years ago what he was using for his pics. An old Sony Mavica 3.5 floppy lol. They're a really nice couple and I sometimes wonder where in the heck they get all of their coins. They come up with some good stuff and they get surprised when one goes for big bucks.

Seller claims he honestly describes every coin he sells, but doesn't mention that the coin is cleaned. That cleaning is pretty hard to miss.

Maybe the seller didn't clean the coin, but it's clearly come in contact with harsh chemicals...it has that telltale iridescence in "OF AMERICA" and the feather tips.
