I just found out that the US Mint is selling one of these sets for F.D. Roosevelt. There will be four more next year.

So I did so research. I could only find four more in the same series: Lincoln, Marshall, Franklin, and the older Roosevelt. Did I miss anything?

I'm in Canada so I don't have access to good American catalogues. Is there a well-known coin website that I should visit to see the market value of these older sets? ebay seems to be a dumping place where prices are all over the place.

Also, does someone remember the price of issue of these older sets?

Thank you for your help. Happy holidays!

The Lincoln set cost $55.95 from the Mint

The Franklin set cost $65 from the Mint

The Marshall set cost $59.95 from the Mint

The Theodore Roosevelt set cost $57.95 from the Mint

The Franklin and Marshall sets can be found for less than what the mint sold them for back when they were new. These sets only contain 1 coin, the 90% silver commemorative dollar.

The Lincoln set tends to sell above issue price.

Not sure if you'd include the 1993 Thomas Jefferson Coinage & Currency set in this group. It contains an unc silver commem dollar, a matte proof nickel and an unc $2 bill.

Thanks for the info! I did a bit of research and found out that the Marshall set didn't even sell up to 20000 units. 50000 Franklin sets were issued. The Lincoln set was sold out in 30 hours! I wonder what would happen with the Roosevelt. I guess he's not as popular as Lincoln?

The Theodore Roosevelt set cumulative sales numbers show 15,145 were sold.

I was one of the lucky ones who got this set from the mint.

The Theodore Roosevelt set is nice. The only coin in it is a proof Presidential dollar, but the silver medal is beautiful. I ordered the FDR set because of the medal. Who knew I would like medals so much?
