Mint mark's in the wrong place for VAM-5 - see VAM-6 which has the same reverse and shows the MM. It's defnitely S/S Left, though.

Dang! Maybe I'm looking at one too long, lol. Does the reverse have doubling or is that my eyes playing trick?

Yes, this is the coin I took the glue off of.

I see the doubling, but that's so common on Morgans that it can go unnoticed. The fact that it isn't recorded for a given VAM doesn't mean it isn't there. The key to VAMming is date and mint mark location first - these differ between dies and will help narrow the field initially. Most issues listed at VAMworld have pages listing the various locations for that year.
