Know next to nothing about notes, other than they spend well in a store.

Is this one of the elusive $5 notes and if it is, what would be a fair price to ask for same?

Hmmm. I am not a note collector, but this is starting to feel a little like some of the modern one cent rarities...... rare at first...... maybe not so rare after people have been looking hard for a year or two?

I haven't seen many tattered polymer notes in circulation so I am guessing that the number of notes pulled form circulation is pretty small to date.

Appreciate the input!

Understand that only time will tell the true value.

See what the note in the link sold for, seems a bit high to me.

Myself and three work-mates own the note. The other three also do not collect notes, but we all spend them.

Told the others that we should be able to sell the note and receive at least 20.00 spending money each.

Is 90.00 (extra ten to cover ebay, paypal fees) a fair value to start an auction at on ebay?

What the other note sold for is a bit high and yours looks like it is in better condition. There were a little over 300,000 printed. People have been looking but few have been found. If you are not a collect I would sell it ASAP cause the value could go down as more are found.

I would start the auction at 99 cents. I believe that it will sell for sure at over $200. Just make sure that you list it correctly as a rare HBG MACKLEM CARNEY SIGNATURE

I look through 100 -300 $5notes a week (work related). In the past year I have only found one. I think these are going to be worth more. just my opinion.

300,000 seems like a bountiful number.

Think I'll look at this note as a ground-floor opportunity and one that can go either way.
