The diameter is little less than 1" (one inch). Source _ North Iran /persia & south Azerbaijan, Caspian sea.

I have some coins that are similar (kinda).

They (my coins) are 1 Para coins from the Ottoman Empire. Mine have holes in them like yours because they were used, at one point, for jewelry or clothing.

Maybe your coin might be the same/similar thing.

The loop on one side suggests that it may have been used as a button. It looks like a copper loop on a silver coin, which is pretty odd, suggesting that the loop was a personal customization.
