Pretty high price for au.

If that is natural toning, I can see why. It makes liberty's head appear to glow.

Is that natural toning, or some sort of color alteration?

Thanks.

Scottk, great question. Some form of cleaning my guess. I'm still in the learning stage 101.

I honestly can't explain the patina however I can tell you it looks like a 47/47 error. Note the bottom of the one eight and seven. I could be wrong but it looks good to me

I'd say cleaned and then some one altered the color/it retoned. Nice overdate, but bummer about the cleaning.

No way those are natural surfaces. Heavily cleaned, retoned. Probably on a windowsill.

Here is a nice example of an absolute original coin.
One I lost by $1.50

That is unlike any natural toning I have seen. Cleaned and retoned is quite probable.

No way it's a 47 7 over small 7, check your RedBook. It looks to me to an XF45+ N-16. Definitely cleaned at one time (but to share a secret, they all have).

The toning on the ebay coin in question looks an awful lot like the toning on the coin pictured at CoinFacts.com (link posted by eagleeye4coins).

If the coin at CoinFacts has not been cleaned (or has it?) then why think the ebay coin has?
