I was driving north to Prince George, BC Canada yesterday up from the metro Vancouver area. I was a going to see my sister and her family.

I was hauling just over $2000 in rolls some I was going to dump, some I had yet to search.

About half way up the hwy ( roughly 4 hours) I hit a patch of hard pack snow, started to fishtail, crossed 2 oncoming lanes of traffic and went nose first into the ditch. I flipped at least once landing upside down and facing the opposite direction.

People on site helped to get me out and got me help.

Needless to say there was coinage everywhere, I managed with help to get 3 bags, but I know there is one left ( hopefully)

I spent 9 hours in 2 hospitals, getting checked out, bruised and a fat lip, sore shoulders and chest but nothing broken. The lesson could have easily been harder.

Anyway if there is anyone on this from the Clinton, BC area there is for sure money on the south bound lane midway up the hill on the north side.

I hope the bag is still in the wreck it had about $1000 in it.

Sorry I don't have any pics, my phone was damaged in the crash.

Glad to know you're okay. Good luck on recovering the coins- what type/denomination were they, and what were others reactions to helping you recover thousands in loose change?

The coins in the bag were quarters and dimes, however I had pennies and nickels as well in the truck, as I was sitting on the side of the road I saw coins strewn across the snowy bank, I picked up any rolls I saw and a few lone coins, but I think a shovel and a sieve would make the task a bit easier.

I am hoping the bag was still in tact and in the truck.

I recommend sand bags for added weight and traction, not bags of coins! All jokes aside, glad you made it out ok. Your story reminded me of the 2012 crash on HWY 11 in Ontario....COINS EVERYWHERE!!!

Glad to hear you weren't more hurt. Hopefully you get the coin back, if not your health is more important.
Rest in Peace

Sorry to learn you were in an accident. All that time in two hospitals! You are all right, aren't you?

I agree with the others -- you're far more important than the coins but I do hope you recover more of them.

Keep us posted.

Feel better.

Thanks guys, so an update my friend drove me to the tow yard, and I was flabbergasted, if I had anyone else in the truck, they would not have made it.

I am blessed to have been saved.

I found the other bag, mostly in tact. I won't know for sure until I thaw them out and count.

On another note, if you watch the show Highway through Hell, this is one of the highways ( but a bit farther north than they normally go to).

My buddy took some photos, I will try and get them up in the next while.

Wow, you narrowly escaped serious injury, destroyed your truck, but the coins are (mostly) intact? To quote a saying from one of the Harry Potter movies: you really need to sort out your priorities!

Health first. Hospital bills and car damages next, they could be a lot more than your coins! and only then the coins. Good luck and stay safe.
Rest in Peace

Glad you found the last bag. If you got most of the coins back after an accident, I think you're lucky or blessed or just living right....
