1909 VDB is a good find and the 1928 is not a key date but recently they have been on the rise so watch out for those 2

I think you did fine, but that depends on your goals. If you are looking to kick start a LWC set, then fine. If you are making an investment, then not so fine. It's not that the coins, don't have value, it's that selling wheat cents is painful. Most collectors have small stashes and dealers have them by the bin full.

In your set, most of the value is in the pre depression coins, especially if they are on the higher end of VFish. Another thing to consider is that to get the same set from rolls, you'd have to get dozens and then after sorting, you'd need to figure out what to do with the 2000 leftovers.

I'm going to insert a shameless plug here. I happen to have listed on ebay, a starter set with 25 unique cents from 1936 to 1958 with most in XF to AU for $8 including shipping or best offer. I can adjust the contents so that you don't get an extra 36-39. Might round out the rest of the set. If you are interested, please PM me and I'll send you a link to the auction. Be sure to put your CCF user name in the offer when you submit it. You'd be the first sale for this set. It got buried by other auctions pretty quickly.

You realize there's an icon above each of your posts linking to your ebay auctions, right? You had to opt in to that....

I barely can remember what I did last week, yet a few years ago. Thanks for the reminder. Looks like a bunch of handy widgets up there.

Rest in Peace

I would say you did pretty darn good for $50 if most of them are in vf conditions. some of your nice
lincolns are the 12-d, 21-s, 26-s. however if you really have a 1933-s then you have an extremely rare and
unique coin. probably priceless !!

Oops, I don't have one and I just looked at the checklist and thought: "Oh, everything from '33 down is PDS!" I just missed the fact that the checklist didn't even have a '33 S! My bad

Sorry to bump this post by about 4 months, but why were/are 1928 cents on the rise?

Why are you bumping a totally unrelated thread to ask? Create your own thread. Bytes are cheap.
