I have looked through pages and pages of comments on handling coins in the Forum. Perhaps the answer is there somewhere, but so far I haven't seen anything about getting coins out of coin tubes or even mint rolled coins for that matter to avoid dings or scratches getting them out. Anyone have a process they are willing to share?

Just open vertically and carefully so you create a stack all at once just like it was in the roll. Easier said than done with a paper roll but not so hard from a plastic tube.

1. Melt plastic tubes with a torch.
2. Burn paper rolls with a torch.
3. Smash tubes with a hammer and coins should fall out
4. Dump tubes in ACID.
All in jest you know.
I usually just turn a plastic tube upside down and allow the coins to fall out. Of course I don't put valuable coins in tubes. If attempting to take coins out of paper rolls, just be careful. From plastic tubes, again just be careful and don't put valuable coins in those.

@just carl Use a hammer on plastic tubes is dangerous, use better a jigsaw.
Rest in Peace

Pete , which ever way you do it is just fine except for the hammer and jigsaw. (I haven't tried that yet )LOL
but always use cotton gloves when taking coins out of paper rolls or plastic tubes.
