Interesting find for me tonight. At a loss if it's altered PMD or not. It survived an acetone bath. Thoughts?

Nice purple color the photos didn't really capture.

*A bit of clash to the right of the left wheat tip as well

Looks like a poor copper mix on the planchet. The cheek has a little contact mark on it and there is a slight struck through error on AM on AMERICA.

Your gold streak is probably more green than gold. I have some nice late 40's to early 50's cents that are mint red except for green woodie grain. Nice find!

It is a pretty atypical Woody for a mid 50s LWC from SF. It is, though, a nice example! The Gold streak is probably brass. You see this type of Woody more in the 46 to 49 LWCs. Less in the 50s and even less in those minted in San Francisco. The Strike is above average for this year. Nice find!
