I have recently acquired a rare 1928 C series $20 note from the San Francisco district can anyone tell me a little bit more about this note and it's value? Thanks in advance to replies.

Value around $700 or so.

Very nice acquisition jay.

It is the last $20 to have the gold clause. 1928-C $20's were only issued by Chicago and San Francisco. The signers (Woods & Mills) were in office from February 1932 to March 1933.

My guide (high retail) does list VF at $700

IMO a person should check several sources to find out what this notes

Does this mean my note is currently the highest serial number in existence?

Not sure. What I don't know is if the number printed that GR58 lists includes star notes or not. The numbers themselves when doing simple math with the high and low SN's listed only comes out to 877K notes. So somewhere there are ~500K unaccounted for.....
