They are my favorite coin and they are a wonderful investment! I have 4 full bags in varying conditions from XF to graded and slabbed MS65. Anyone else wanna share their Morgan stories and or photos?

I've picked up on three pretty awesome ones this year. All MS in my opinion. 1921 D, 1887, and 1896. All for under $110 too.

1887(not sure, but I have it at MS60-62):

1896 in an NGC MS63 Holder:

1921 D (SsuperDdave gives it an MS64 and a VAM-1AE):

By far my favorite coin to collect as well. Since joining this site I have become addicted to collecting them by the VAM number.

I'll add that my favorite die is the 1883-O VAM-1C reverse die. I ran into a thread about it on VAMworld and decided I wanted one. 2 years later I have 5 examples in various die stages and still look for more. Here is my latest https://goccf.com/t/186431

Yup... Me too. They're really my number one collected coin, more specifically I search for MS63 and up PL/DPML toners... Obviously exceptions will be made for a few years/mints though lol.

Lower grade coins are ok too, if they have interesting features...

Wow, you don't see that on a Morgan often.

So that is an 1891-O Morgan? Cool coin at any rate.

I see by your screen name you seem to have a pretty limited collecting range ... or maybe, like my ebay name (aureus11) your collecting interests and that don't intersect?

Best Regards,

George

That looks to me like a later state of RDB-100c-1891O-01 http://cuds-on-coins.com/morgan-dollar-rcd/

The coin you referenced is VAM 9b, my photo above is VAM 15b, both from the 1891 o series. The search goes on for a 9b.

It's a New Orleans, I suppose they weren't the best of the best.

Yeah, the coin at Cuds On Coins looks to be the same one as the 9b plate illustration at VAMworld. Wish they'd show the obverse so we can help attribute the variety for sure.
