Judging off of Copperpenny's sale price, the fact that it's a penny and not a nickel, missing 2 date digits, and isn't quite as big, I would say around $30-45
Still a really solid find, though, congrats!

I had kind of estimated around $40 but wasn't sure. I've never bought or sold anything like this. I'm just happy it only cost me 1 cent. I've had multiple of these coins go through my hands over the years, I'm just now getting into collecting and am regretting not starting earlier. I can only imagine how much money I have lost over the years.

25-45 dollars on ebay - depends how lucky you get and how many people get drawn in. NICE find.

Nice find. Grade matters with error coins. Look at 'SOLD' listings on the bay for similar coins. That will give you a good idea of the premium value.

CLBCHIRO, Think of it like this, Its better to start collecting today then it is tomorrow. Infact I might make that my signature lol......I was a coin collector for years. foreign stuff. Countries people haven't heard of. Gave it all away (free) to my brother before realizing I'm an idiot and started collecting again from scratch lol. although I have more weight in foreign then I can carry, I stick to american made coins now:)

Would it be worth getting it graded?

The short answer is no. I would never get a Cud slabbed. Anyone who collects them will know what it is and the approximate value.

Nah don't spend your money on that, the cost of the actual grading would outweigh the cost of the coin.
Besides, what are you getting it graded for? Authentication? It's obviously a real error, any dealer who has any clue about error coins could tell you that. For grading? If this were a mint state example, the possibility of the price increasing could be something to think about, but only in a high mint state grade, this is AU at best, and seems to have a corrosion spot on the reverse, any grade it gets will not raise it's value.

Good to know about the grading, thanks for your input. I don't want to waste money on anything, part of the reason I like CRH so much.
