Does anyone toss cull IHCs, wheat pennies and buffalo/v nickels into change? I am referring to coins not currently used.

I don't. I bought slotted lids for Mason jars and toss all my pocket change in those. Then I "salt" the jars with cull coins so the kids will have something to get excited about when they rummage through grandpa's coin jars. They love doing that so I'm thinking it's about time to get them a bunch of coin folders.

I toss garbage culls back into the wild to hopefully excite someone else about the hobby.

I am in the process of recycling about $400 worth of culls back into circulation via pocket change. In my case the bulk of the denominations are 50 cent pieces. Although they are the same size as Kennedys, they are much easier to recirculate and are normally accepted. I will use most of them to buy fuel.

I have this same problem, I have a bunch of improperly cleaned and metal detecting dug wheaties that I have sitting around. Any advice?

With the metal detected wheaties, I would sell them as a bulk lot on ebay. Surely you could get more than one cent per coin. Even if you loose a bit because of ebay fees and shipping, they would still be going to someone who would be interested in them.

I just put my culls in a bag and forget about them. It can be fun to go through them occasionally though.

I recently spent some V Nickles and IH Pennies at McDonalds and the local convenience stores. It's fun to release them for someone else to find

I send all cull buffalo and IH's into the wild. My dug wheats (you can't hurt a common wheat by cleaning), I keep, as I can sell later, for at least 3-4c ea.

I give them to the kids at the school where I work. Try to get them interested. They always seem excited.

I save all my change and put in a large can. When it gets full I dump in some really common old coins or ones with no dates. Then to the bank they all go.
