Max L Valued Member Canada 258 Posts	Posted 01/04/2015 12:34 am Any more information would help. One side has 'Sic Regna Resurgere Fas Est' on top and ' in memor. coronationis Aug D XXIX Jun MDCCCIX. ORDD R' on the bottom. The other side seems to have melted wax and paper glued on by the wax. Three quarters of the paper is gone but it would be great to know why it was there in the first place. The medal seems to be made of lead. Weight is 42g and diameter 59mm. Report this Post to the Staff

Tryna Pillar of the Community United States 937 Posts	Posted 01/05/2015 11:52 am If I have this right it is says "Thus the kingdom continues which is correct" You state it is lead so my guess it is a test or submission piece from the artist. That could also explain the wax and paper on the reverse. It was likely an attempt to preserve the lead from corrosion (lead Oxide I think it is called) Report this Post to the Staff
